1D Arrays

Differences between Javascript arrays and what you're used to:

• The size of the array is dynamically changeable, i.e., don't have to allocate space before use.
• Different elements of the array can be different types
• Associative arrays reference elements through a string rather than through an integer.

Similarities

• Index starts at 0
• You can access length to get the size of the array.
• A multidimensional array is an array of arrays.

	var arr1 = new Array();
	arr1[0] = 'test';
	arr1[1] = 25;
	arr1[4] = -1;
	alert("arr1: " + arr1);
	

Example 1: Create an empty array, add strings, output thumbnails. (see head)

Example 2: Create associative array, output using for loop, output using string

Can do nested loops
