Using the built-in table on the TI-83
-
Enter a function whose values you want somewhere in the 'Y='
menu.
-
Press the yellow '2nd' button, then press the WINDOW button (which means
we really want the 'TBLSET' yellow command right above it.)
-
Enter a value in TBLSTART; this will give you the first x-value in the
table. (Let's put in a 5).
-
Use the down arrow to move you down to the next line. Notice that it
has a funny triangle symbol in it. That triangle is a delta, which in math
stands for difference. For us, here, it means how much you want each x-value
to differ from the next one. (So that entering a 10 here will make the second
value 15, the next value 25, etc.)
-
Make sure that both of the items marked 'AUTO' are chosen in the bottom
two rows.
-
Now press the yellow '2nd' button, then the GRAPH button on the way
top right (which means we have really chosen TABLE, which is in yellow above
it!)
