Using the built-in table on the TI-83

  1. Enter a function whose values you want somewhere in the 'Y=' menu.
  2. Press the yellow '2nd' button, then press the WINDOW button (which means we really want the 'TBLSET' yellow command right above it.)
  3. Enter a value in TBLSTART; this will give you the first x-value in the table. (Let's put in a 5).
  4. Use the down arrow to move you down to the next line. Notice that it has a funny triangle symbol in it. That triangle is a delta, which in math stands for difference. For us, here, it means how much you want each x-value to differ from the next one. (So that entering a 10 here will make the second value 15, the next value 25, etc.)
  5. Make sure that both of the items marked 'AUTO' are chosen in the bottom two rows.
  6. Now press the yellow '2nd' button, then the GRAPH button on the way top right (which means we have really chosen TABLE, which is in yellow above it!)
